      the 3.8 takes 4.5 quarts.

i've got two sad stories about "quick lube" stores:

      1. my own oil pan was cross-threaded using an impact wrench and a little too much **** diesel, but they didn't bother to tell me and i didn't find out until the dreaded "this is way too easy to turn" feeling when i did it myself the next time. i hope my filter caught all the shards floating around in there... :(

      2. my old boss/school friend took her 240 to one of those joints to have her oil changed. a day later she comes into work saying "my car's engine is making metal on metal noises, what could it be?" and i thought it was just a heat shield or something down there, but we checked the oil during some down time anyway... i don't know if it was completely empty of oil or not, but nothing registered on the dipstick. changed the filter, though.

hence, i always do maintenance myself.
