  • O2 Sim/PCM question:

    To start, I threw an SES light about a week ago. I reset the PCM, and drove the car for about 50 miles (without any light), and then the SES light came on again. I thought maybe I'd install a post-cat O2 sim because of my new carsound cat I installed, but the ses light is still there...

    My question is;
    How long does it take for the PCM to learn an O2 Sim? Does it have to run for awhile to take the light away?

    If not, I'll run my car to Autozone to get it scanned tomorrow.

    Thanx,
    Marc

    When I installed my O2 sim, I had to autotap it to clear the code. Once you get rid of the code, it shouldn't come back.

      Yeah..it won't just go away...you will have to clear the code by reseting the PCM or having Autozone do it.

        If it was the new cat throwing the code, you do not have to clear the code, but it would make it quicker. I had that problem after my new cat and it went away a couple day later once I installed the O2 sim.
