Car Won't Start

I went to put my key in the car and turn the ignition and nothing happens. No turn-over or anything. All that is lit on the dashboard is a ilght saying "security." WTF?

Its probably got something to do with the security coded key or something. You should call a gm dealer.

i just had this problem, what the dealer told me was that most times its not the key thats the problem. the sensor that reads the resistor in the key is either bad, or the wires have come loose. now the dealer can either replace the whole assembly (which will cost an arm and a leg,but you get to keep your passive security system) or they can bypass the system to make it seem like its always on. while the last option is cheaper, it still cost me $200 ta get it done...i couldnt afford to have my car in the shop while they ordered another ignition cylinder.

well I just went back this morning and it started fine. I'm still under bumper-to-bumper warranty for a while so they should fix it for nothing.
