  • Trouble starting in wet weather.......

I have a 1997 3.8 camaro and all of a sudden within the last few months it seems to have a mind of its own on when it wants to start. For some reason it always seems to happen when its raining or its wet outside. I took it to the local GM dealer and they have tried everything and cant seem to find anything wrong.. It turns over when you turn the key its just like something is holding it back from firing. Then one night the security system kept goin off for no reason and the inside lights would not shut off even while I was driving... Then while I was driving that night around town even though the lights in the inside were still on all of a sudden my gauges flashed and my car just shut off right in the middle of the road and took about 5 minutes to start up... Needless to say my car has been at the Gm dealer now for about a week, this is the third time Ive had it out there and they have checked pretty much everything and still cant seem to find a problem..

Has anyone else had anything similar to this?

    Any help, thanks

I'm going to go with an Electrical problem. Maybe a bad ground somewhere. Something like this can cause a HUGE list of problems. Your best bet would be to check the few main grounds in the engine bay wiring harness to make sure they are connected and not all rusted up.

Good luck, problems like this are usually quite hard to pin down.

I would also reccoment that you get your battery checked/replaced because I have had gauge troubles in the past when my batter was going dead.
