  • help with vent controls!

    heya, i cant adjust the position of the airflow from my vents anymore! it is stuck just blowing at the feet, whenever i turn the knob to blow through the defroster or vents it just blows to the floor and doesnet make that PISHHHHH noise anymore...

    any ideas??

    you can pull off the actual knobs by just simply pulling them out towards you. You might have rounded the insides off. Check to make sure that didn't happen. If you did, i'm sure that you can possibly get new knobs from the dealer or something (or a online fbody salvage site)

      Ok, this happened to me too. My problem was I had a vacuum leak under the hood and that directs whether you want air conditioning at your feet, head level, etc.

      This is where my problem was (I don't know if it's the same on the 3.4s):

      On the passenger side, under the hood, near the hood strut, there is a small black cylinder check valve. Connecting to the cylinder is 3 vaccuum lines, one at the bottom, one on the side, and one at the top. If you have this part and there is a crack in it or one of the lines blew off you've found your problem.

      Went to the dealer, bought the $7 part, put it in and I have ice cold AC in the top vents, and I haven't felt holyness like that since I purchased the car over a year ago.
