  • Auto Shifter removal and muffler question

I have a rattle in my console and I know where it is but I have to get my shifter off before I can take the console out. How do I take my shifter handle off(97 4L60E)?? Also, What do you guys think of the Flowmaster 40 series mufflers? I need a new muffler and am considering this.

There is a little staple like peice of metal that holds the grip on. To take it out get a very small flathead screwdriver and pry it out, it is located toward the front of the car about halfway down the knob. Personally I don't like the way some of the flowmaster's sound on 6's.

Maybe he'll get correct information if he searches too.

        A 40 series will work.
