The other way to go is a nice cat, then put in a cut out, (electronic if you want to open it on demand, or manual if you just wanna use it on the track) then w/ the cut out you can just put a V8 take off muffler. If you don't want a take off muffler, look at flowmaster... they are nice, I love mine.
What makes you say that he should definitely get headers/ He already has tubular manifolds, so the biggest difference he'd see would be sound. I don't think he'd like the difference for what he'd be paying for a set of quality headers

I am considering putting on some 3.42 gears but I heard that it really eats your gas mileage and will pretty much red line you on the highway??

Anybody have this issue? if so is it worth it?

RancidCamaro Thanks for the info. I'm pretty sure I'm gonna upgrade anyhow. Do you feel the difference a lot for take off and acceleration? I have 02 firebird w68 a4. 3800 series II. couldn't do a burn out if i tried!! but I'm hoping after upgrading the gears and differential that will change.

</font>[/QUOTE]That gas mileage thing is bullsh*t. I have 3.42's and LSD, and get 26 or 27 mpg. It only got 22 or 23 when it was brand new!

for exaust, just get a V8 take off, and mabey change the muffler. that will give you plenty big pipe for a good price
