What is the torque specifications for the 3.8 upper plenum?
Tighten in sequence the vertical intake manifold bolts to 15 N·m (11 lb ft).
Tighten the two water outlet bolts to 27 N·m (20 lb ft).
Tighten the side bolts to 30 N·m (22 lb ft).
Thank you, 98Camaro3.8, I have been looking for that info and could not find it. How did you get that info? By the way, my engine conversion will be set-up for the specifications of a 98 Camaro. The engine that I will be using is out of a 2000 Firebird. That year they came out with the drive by wire. That set-up would have created more problems for me, so I researhed to see what other upper intake plenum would bolt up to the existing lower plenum that did not have the drive by wire. My research showed that the plenum from the 98 Camaro would fit, and that it had the regular cable linkage and throttle body. That's what I wanted. I picked up the upper plenum from a yard on the East coast. In fact, I also picked up my engine from a yard in Wisconsin. The only item that I got locally was the 4L60E trans. The Wrangler rear suspension that I'll be using is from a yard in Oregon. It's actually cheaper to bring parts in from the East or West coast, than getting here in Hawaii. Thanks again, 3.8L Strong.
