• Lighter outlet not working

I need some help because my cigarette lighter power is out. I try using my cell phone charger and it wont turn on. I checked my fuse and its fine...any ideas?

sure you checked the correct fuse? the cig lighter has its own special fuse i believe. its a real low amp fuse and blows easily. ive done it several times.

Sometimes it can become disconnected from the back of the lighter...check and make sure the clip is still connected.

unplug the fuse, then stick a wire brush or sandpaper in the outlet and polish it. Alot of corrosion gets on those over the years

uh.. if your going to clean the fuse block with a METAL wirebrush.. unplug the battery

but, it should be the fuse, make sure your checking the correct one.

Mine was corroded also even though it had power going through it, I replaced mine w/ a new one from Wal-mart for $3, easy fix. Sometimes trying to force it to work w/ the corrosion on it will blow a fuse easily.

I think on our cars, in the fuse box, its the "courtesy" fuse. Check that one, only other thing besides that is take off the plastic peice housing the ciggarette lighter, and check the wires/connections connectec to the back of the ciggarette lighter. Sometimes those mess up. Good luck. ;)
