yesterday i started noticing a whining noise under acceleration.... more noticeable when im around 30-40ish... little bit of clanking, all coming from the rear end. I'm guessing i have bad U-joints. have to jack it up tonight to check it out. Any other suggestions? or any leads on an aluminum driveshaft? the only place i've found one right now is TACreations.

the clanking noise could be a loose heatshield... and the whining could be gears. U-joints are a possibility also.
If youre looking for an alum. ds. you might want to check ebay.

gears was my second thought..... once i get it up on jacks stands if there is some slop in the d/s then it'll be bad u-joints, right? if not, then i can figure on gears.
anyway, looks like this is necessitating the need to spend the money upgrading the rear-end... just the excuse i was looking for.\'01 Mineral Grey SVT Cobra<br />-former F-body owner
