well replacing my window motor today I had the spare delco one laying around that "did'nt work" I poped the back half of the assembly off and you see the back of the motor, then you see a little thermistor in-line, right before the motor...I ran some 12v to it like it was before, nothing, jumped across the thermistor ran 12v again...worked like a charm...so thats obviously whats going bad....I wouldnt recommend jumping the thermistor and leaving it like that, but cut out the old breaker and throw in a new 0.12$ one in from radio shack...just a little tip...

Are you saying we can actually fix our motors for a few cents and a little labor? I have the motor I yanked out of my car when I replaced one side, and I need to fix the other side soon. What does a thermistor look like, and what specs for one would I look for when I go to radioshack? You may just save me $50 I didn't really want to spend. Also, what did you do to seal the motor back up again?1997 Mystic Teal Firebird w/ T-tops
3800 II V6 A4
Custom dual exhaust, modified airbox, K&N filter, ground effects, more to come...

ok I will do the write up when I have time....but for now...look at the old motor....see where the connections go into the plastic part at the top...and there is some metal bent around it...bend the metal strips back and pull out the plastic thing you'll see a brownish square thing....thats the problem....to test the theory jump a piece of wire across the thingy and run some 12v to it...it should work....break that old thing off and bring it to radio shack and they should get you the right part.....Ill take some pics tonight...

Just so you know, that's not a thermistor.
That's an in-line circuit breaker. It uses temperature sensitive metal to break the connection.
A thermistor is a resistor that has varying resistance in accordance to temperature. Most have a Negative Temperature Coefficiant (NTC), meaning as the temperature goes up, the resistance goes down and vice-versa.
I just don't want anyone going to RadioShack and buying a thermistor....1997 Camaro 30th Anniversary...M5, chrome 16\" 5-stars Goodyear 245/50R16
http://members.cardomain.com/issycamaroman
