  • Annoying "Rattle" when I accelerate....

I have a '94 3.4L Camaro, and whenever I start to accelerate, I get a weird rattling sound right under the drivers side. I thought it could have been a damaged piston or someting, but when I set the car in park and give it gas, I hear no sound. I was wondering if anyone can tell me what it might be, or if anyone has had the similar problem. Thanks for any feedback.

P.S. Cat is very new ( about 1k miles on it ) and muffler is new also.

Sounds like valve ticking...not really a problem....try a little thicker oil to stop the sound.

I had something similar.....the Y-pipe is double walled and sometimes the inner section comes loose and rattles....have it checked

I think I have the save thing. I hear mine at low RPMs and when I let off the clutch. I'm ripping out the heat shields next time I'm under the car and hopefully that's it.
