Everything was running fine all morning until this afternoon. A buddy of mine came by and when I went to start my car it revved on its own up to 3000RPM, dropped and revved on its own again and completley died. Each time afterwards when I stared it the same thing occured. Do you think it has to do with my choke? How would you guys go about troubleshooting this issue? Thanks for all input.
Idle Air Control valve - it is controlled by the PCM to allow the proper amount of air to bypass the throttle plate during idle to control the idle speed. If it fails, you can end up running at very high RPMs (but if you were to try and drive it, the car may stall under load due to lack of air.
Damn this doesnt sound good. Well thanks for all the input. Since this is new ground to me I'm taking it to this armenian gas station up the street. The owner is a pretty knowledgeble and hopefully can fix it cheap.
The IAC is just a suggestion - not necessarily the primary cause. I would check for a sticking throttle first. Barring that, I would then suspect the IAC. If you aren't getting any DTC codes, and the throttle isn't hanging up, then I would troublshoot the IAC

You are the man! I felt pretty stupid when I looked under the hood and saw the vacuum hose was disconnected (couldnt tell at night). All is well now and it didnt cost me a thing...but I feel pathedic.
