  • Can u put this on? Even if u didn't have power b4.... PLEASE RESPOND ASAP

I may have the oppurtunity to buy 2 doors from a 96 camaro... they both have power windows and power mirrors... how hard would it be to put those doors on my car...

I don't mean by just putting the doors on, but by making the POWER windows work?

Getting doors to line up right can be a pain in the azz. If you want power windows I would just buy the parts. Also the colors might not match up right. One might be more faded then the other. I would pass on the doors bud ;) .

Oof! I don't even want to think about it. I think the inner door panel is different on power windowed doors. I'd really take it to a professional to change out doors. Just think of all the intricate alignments you have to make... not just with the door, but with the window also. I'd assume the wires on the 2 new doors are clipped. You're going to have to rig some custom stuff since you don't have that set of wires or connectors to match to your wiring harness. It sounds like a real nightmare. I'd do it, but I'm not all there. :D

Call around and ask how much it is to install power windows and locks (just labor, not parts) then compare to cost of doors, putting them on (if you don't do it yourself) and maybe painting (if they don't match).

I've heard its a PITA to put in power windows, trying to get to where the motor needs to be installed and stuff. I've taken my door panels off quite a few times (power nothing on mine) and it is a very tight squeeze behind there. If i could get doors cheap I'd do it in a heart beat.

There are aftermarket things to convert non-powr windows to power nad non power locks to power. I ahve seen them befoer in car catalogs. not sure where.
