What year and model is the firebird? I have a 02 firebird 3800 II and mine just drop down to the left. fuel to empty, mph to 0, ect. Haven't heard of the gauges going the other way.
Also when you start the car do they go back to normal? or do the stay put and run backwords
its 2000 , v6 3800. the battery was dead we had to jump it to start it so i dont know if it was fine after we shut it off.but, we start the car drove it around the lot to make sure it drove and the temp. went up and the lights work and the speedo works ect. everything did.then when we shut the car off everything topped out.then went back down.
thanks

I have a 1999 firebird 3800 and when the battery was dead all the gauges would jump up and make a click noise. but after a jump it would do it but go back to normal so it sounds just fine as long as it works right.

Usually if you reset the computer aka unplug and replud in the battery its what they do, so since it needed a jump, thats why it did it.

But he said when they turned the car off, all the guages pegged. I don't know about that. I have a 2000 Camaro, and it doesn't do that when I turn her off
I understand your excited, and I understand where your coming from, but please listen to us on this. Save your money, and get a DECENT car when you get your license. You'll be so much happier. A wrecked car is not something you want to fix up for a first car, there could be a ton more things wrong with it, and you may pay 2000$ for it, but then have to put another 6000$ into it to keep it running. Just get something you want when you can, you may not want an f-body. I can still remember being that age, and when you get your heart set on something...but PLEASE, listen to us on this. We've all been thru it, we know from experience. I was going to get a damn '92 Integra, got my heart set on it and I was so ready to buy it. Then it fell thru, and a week later I found my car.
Something my father always told me when I was car shopping, whatever deal it seems like it is, theres always a better one. I got my 95 3.4L V6 for 1000$, I was going to spend 3000$ on the Integra. There'll be deals when you have your license, too. Hell, you might be able to get a V8 (or talk your parents into the idea in between now and then). Good luck, I didn't mean to rant.
yea thanks guys the car does have frame damage so i'm not going to get it.thanks for the help though guys.
