  • Important Question

I am thinking of putting Mobil 1 synthetic oil in my car. However, my car has 80,000 miles on it, and it has used regular oil the whole time. Will I be doing more harm than good by switching to synthetic with a car with that many miles on it??

the point of oil is to prevent damage. So as long as there isnt anything yet, its never too late. you cant use something thick though.

You can change to synthetic at any time you wish.

I changed over at about 90K, you just can't go back to using regular oil after you start using synthetic.

You can, without damage. But the question is why would you want to?

Break the motor in with convential oils and switch to synthetics after that.

Go for it, you should be fine. Especially now that Wal-Mart has the big daddy 5 quart jugs for only $18.88. Hit it up ;)
