  • if i want a 155 cluster and i use aftermarket tach will it read the right rpms?

I know that the v8 speedo needs two more pulses or whatever but if i put in a 155 cluster and an aftermarket tach would the tach give me the correct rpm reading or would i be off just like the stock tach and only give like 75% of the actual rpm? thanks and where would this tach be wired too so it works right? would i just follow the factory instructions they come with or something? thanks

I didnt know anyone made 155 mph clusters for our cars, who sells them? I hope your not talking about the 155 sticker that goes over your stock 120 cluster. Im talking about the actual 155 cluster not just the overlay piece

Yes, he knows that. He wants to know if he installs a take-off cluster and an aftermarket tach will the aftermarket tach show the correct RPMs.

I believe most aftermarket tachs are made to be universal. They should work on almost all 4, 6, and 8 cylinder engines. I have heard of a certain tach a few people have bought that must actually be set to 4 cylinder mode for it to work correctly in our cars.

Word 'round the campfire is that an LS1 cluster is inaccurate for our mills. The tach is off by 25% or so, which is crucial since I have an M5 w/ n2o spray. LS1 clusters also have 80# max oil press. gauges. We need one to go to 120 psi.

I want to know what cassie is talking about with her aftermarket (calibrated?) panel.

She is probably just talking about an overlay sticker which wont work right.

Overlay stickers will definatley not work for our clusters.
