I just changed the oil, filter, and spark plugs, now the change oil light comes on and stays on for a minute or two then goes, it periodically comes on then off, what gives??

I believe its 7000 miles...not ragging on just you but why does everyone think it does it automatically...working at a dealership...you have no idea how many stupid people drive cars...

Same as the 3.4s, turn engine off, put key in "Run" position which is the click right before starting the engine. Hold the tripometer button for ~12 seconds until it blinks.

Not exactly. The owners manual recommends you change the oil at least every 7500. The oil change light itself keeps track of operating time and engine load to determine when you shoudl change the oil. Of course, whenever you change it, you must reset it so it "knows" that it has clean oil in it.

"so it doesn't really know that the oil is low? just guesses? "

It's just trying to guess when your oil might be dirty. It has no clue about oil level.
