Is there any reason other than the goodness of mankind that we all don't have a pirated version of autotap on our computers?? It looks like you can buy just the cable for like 20 bucks.
I want to get it for my palm pilot, that would be so much better

Does anyone here have their Autotap running on their PalmPilot? i was doing research into the Autotap program running off of a Palm with the MAFT+ hooked up also. i know magnus had good results when using it, but just wondering if anyone else has this setup and how hard it was to tune.

You can download the newest version from their site: http://www.autotap.com/WindowsSoftware2.html
It comes with all the cables you need to hook it up to your car, and to a standard serial port on a computer.
The best place to buy is probably straight from AutoTap, unless you can find a group purchase for it over at CamaroZ28.
It only works with OBD II.
You don't need to "pirate" the program, it is free from their site. I doubt you will find the cables+translation box for $20 bucks though.
You can use it with any computer (laptop or desktop) as long as it has a serial port. If it doesn't, but has USB, you can use an USB->serial converter.
You probably don't need a MAFT+ unless you have port and polished, large cam, or some other serious work that needs tuning.<a href=\"http://www.fatninjas.com/camaro\" target=\"_blank\">\'96 Camaro Convertible</a>

you need the cable, a translator box, and another cable. looks something like this:
http://www.scantool.net/elmscan_iso.htm
that is similar to the setup you pay for when you get the autotap.
you can also get setups for Palm's and stuff like that....
