Does anyone know how and where putting a spark plug in your exhaust make fire come out of the tailpipes. A customer where I work asked me about it a while back and I didnt know what to tell him.

I think there's more to it than just adding the spark plug, unless he has no cat and runs kinda rich :D

You should be able to put it near the tail lights anfd hook it up to 12V via a toggle switch. Don't expect too many flames though.

You'll need more than 12V to set it off - you'll probably have to wire up an ignition coil and the right circuitry to make it spark. Note that sending 12V DC into a coil won't create a continuous spark. As a transformer it needs an AC components, accomplished in cars by switching the DC on and off (AC from 0-12V in essence).

Previous posters are right in that you'll need to inject extra fuel into the exhaust, not too far from the tailpipe to prevent backfires. Maybe more air as well for oxygen.

Safety will be the greatest problem in any design.
