  • Will this thermostat fit a 1999 3.8L

Anyone know if this thermostat will fit a 1999 3.8L? It is at Summit part #MRG-4364. This one is appealling because it says it opens without 2 degrees of 180 degrees regardless of pressure. Anyone used this?

The application tab under the part description lists a 3.8L Chevy engine but doesn't specify the year.

Also, if anyone else has ordered from Summit do they always have outrageous shipping charges? I am appalled. The part is $8.99 and the "handling" charge is $8.45. Almost the price of the part!!

    Likely no.

The 3800 takes a 44m stat. If you want a good 180, get the superstat from Stant at your local pepboyz.

Yeah I saw they have the 160 deg ones but they don't appear to have the 180.

I have a 1999 so I guess it is possible I already have a 180. Did some searching and apparently some 99's came with 180's and some with 195's. At least that is what I gathered from searching. Only way to really tell is to take it out and look at it.
