Swapping out A4 with an M5

First of all, would it be possible to swap out my A4 tranny and replace it with an M5? If so, I have a feeling this would cost me an arm and a leg, but I'm willing to go as far as a grand or so. Has anybody done this before?

Not gonna happen for less than a grand. Do a search in the Drivetrain section. A4 to M5 is one thing, but a T56 won't just bolt up to our engines.

Hmm, yeah, I should have proofread that posting. I meant to ask about the M5, seeing as it would be rather pointless to have an M6 on the 3800. I take it that this would quite expensive and tedious as well though?

You can do it for about a grand. Manual transmissions are teh suck however. You have to drive that, every day...........
