• what is this thing?

It fell down when I took out the air dam (I was replacing a blown DRL). I couldn't find any place to put it back, so for now, it's sitting here on my desk...

I did a quick run through of the parts manual, and didn't see anything like it. Is there a part number or anything stamped into it?

I'm actually changing my air dam today (see related post in Intake), I'll see if I can find anything similar.

Fell out from somewhere around the air dam...dunno where exactly though

And the only thing stamped on it is TRW (looks like a logo or something) and a letter "A" under that.

I just got finished buying everything on the nose of my Z new from GM and thast wasn't any piece I had to buy. That TRW does look like a logo. Oh, I know what it is, your car was previsouly owned by a director that's a clapboard. Doh :D

TRW Autmotive is a pretty major supplier to the automakers, so it could be a random part from there.

Then again, TRW also makes satellites, so maybe you ran over some space junk :D

That is crucial to your car, without it you may die.

well, maybe not, I believe it is a peice that seals off the space around your DRL. Check the other side of the car for a similiar one. If I remeber correctly I had to remove it and replace it when I fix a burnt out DRL.
