  • Problem with msd coil pack

Well as everyone knows the new msd coil packs are out i think they might already pose a problem for us 3.4 guys i attached a pic .
the space is tight hence the reason gm seperated the coil studs one up top one on the bottom .

Also numbering which is which on the coil generally top was always used to distinguish from cycl number from bottom , now side to side so whats up

Just looking at the pic i think we will have a problem making the wire's fit right it's a tight fit under the throttle body and i though tour stock coils are one up top and on the bottom not both bottom attached a pic under the original post

        Hey guys,
I'm supposed to get one of the first sets on the boat, due to my job :D But the were supposed to be to me before I went on Power Tour, but that didn't happen. They said that they are hoping to get them to me before the end of June.

        I'll keep you guys posted

            wtf....

um. ok so here's whats wrong with this statement (not an attempt to flame, just wanna correct this so you guys understand..) MSD is showing you the part BACKWARDS so you can identify what kind of coils you have, by seeing the type of posts that are on it. when you put them on the posts will go towards the back (there is no top), like they do stock ,they dont go "top and bottom" just one side, not two -- and everything will fit up fine. take a very close and careful look, the posts have a screwhole by them, and if you look at the coilpacks on your car, you will notice there is a screwhole on EITHER SIDE of the coilpack to hold it down.

trust me these things will work fine.
if you still need to "wait" to see if they will work..well...whatever.

            -R

            edit: some corrections...
