last week i thought i had fixed my coolant leak when i replaced the cracked plastic tensior pulley-intake manifold elbow. That was only the first leak i guess. My waterpump was leaking too, or it started leaking after i put it back on i dont know. So i put in a new waterpump today and a mile or two down the road my car was at 230 degrees. Im hoping its just the thermo sticking, i put in a new one, but i still need a water outlet gasket and auto zone was closed, so i guess i will find out tomorrow.

Was going to dearch this but hey this thread was here...
So it appears that the water pump is an easy thing to replce huh?
I may need to replace mine, I am losing coolant, however I do not smell it when the car is idling/running or after a 30 minute drive that here in SAn Diego is equal to and hour or so drive time. The car does not get hot at all unless coolant level goes to low. Any one have any idea's? I still need to look under the car at the water pump but no time yet....awaiting distater I think.

If the water pump is bad it will leak water out of the weep hole(s). Try to see where you are losing coolant, and that will be the most help.Jordan
15.09@90.7
1995 Camaro 3.4 M5
