  • Worn out Alt Belt?

    Could my WAYYYYYYYYY worn out Alternator belt affect the way my car is starting up? (making it crank) I am running of ideas here...

            its called a serpentine belt. It will not affect how well the car cranks, in fact it will simply slip and squeel if its loose. Replace it if it has more than 30K miles on it. If your car is cranking funny have you
            Installed a new fuel filter?
            Changed the plugs?
            Checked the plug wires? changed them?
            Check the coil packs? changed them?
            How's the air filter?
            Ran any fuel injector cleaner through it lately?
            Been on a long trip lately with it? (100miles+)

              Change that belt. You said youve tried a lot of other things and youre still having problems.

                I would def get a new belt. I got a Gates, wayyyyyyyy stronger than that gatorback autozone crap. It takes like literaly two minites to do it yourself if you have something to hold down the tension bar thingy

                  Where did you get the Gates belt at? I had the Gatorback but it made so much noise it sucked!thanks for the help!

                    got it at a local place -lord & sulivan- or somthin like that. don't think they're nation wide. look aroud. or go to the gates website.
