They blame the tranny cooler when it was human error that caused teh failure. Tranny coolers are a great mod for an auto.
coil packs are debatable.
Wires on the otherhand.. after market wires usualy have 2 things going for them. Higher supression and lower resitence. So You get more spark to the plug with less interfearence.
air temp resisters are crap.
AFPR's are not really needed on stock motors when but they do actualy work. It's not that your wanting to add more fuel, but higher PSI will mean a better spray pattern and more atomisation for a more complete fuel burn. I would call that one part true depending on aplication.
TPS enhanser is also bunk. It just sends you to WOT sooner. The same can be done by just hitting the pedel faster or if your really really worried about it you can slot the TPS and get it right at 0.76 volts..
tornado, obviously crap
Trans inprovers are pretty crappy.
aftermarket pumps are needed, but not for a while.
I guess I agree with some of it but not all of it. But compring the GTP with an fbody falls under the apples to oranges debate as well. Some of it sticks but not all of it.1996 Silver camaro Z28. it's the same control system no matter what motor. 5 volt refference sent to the computer by way of resisted signal.. doesn't matter if it's a I4, V6, V8 etc, it's the same effect. coolant temp sensor has more effect on timing contorl then the IAT does. even if the IAT reads cold the ECT will still read a warm motor and pull timing.1996 Silver camaro Z28. So what I get out of the Walbro section is that the stock pump and pressure regulator should be enough to handle at least 387 RWHP? What about all this that we hear that we need FMU's and inline pumps when running boost? Do we not need that?2002 Silver Firebird A4
T-Tops, Leather, Y87, W68, Chrome Wheels
Bone Stock

Agreed with HBH...tranny coolers are great! Especially for auto cars with aftermarket/higher stall convertors. The are a MUST have mod for those cars, and I have seen the damage done to the 4L60E when a cooler was not used on many occasions, it gets ugly! And for an F-body car that has one of the worst factory fuel pumps in terms of reliability, the Walbro is a great/inepensive replacement!www.fullthrottlev6.com THE SOURCE!

nearly 20k miles later on my 2800 stall, on WALMART fluid changes, and about 20-30 track runs at BMP, i'm still doing fine.
But i'm just ONE car.

Put some power behid that vertor, and then rag on it. They will stop shifting after a while if you're very hard on them! I would NEVER own a stalled auto without a cooler. That page has some nice BS on it. This would be like you not wanting to run header because one guy ruined his starter with his (too much heat too close, and they die..common issue, but nothing to whine about and say don't buy ehaders for).www.fullthrottlev6.com THE SOURCE!

Rob Bell, the FMU and fuel pumps for SC is to increase fuel during boost. The FMU restricts the return fuel line which increases preasure. The bigger fuel pump is so the increased preasure does not stall the pump. The increased preasure gives you more fuel without PCM programing. This way you can run the same injectors, not program the PCM to get more fuel, not change the PCM to account for boost, and still get the fuel when you need it. Hope this helps.2001 Firebird 3.8L V6 M5,
It once had....
NX Nitrous Wet Kit, ZZP X-P Hot Cam,
3.42 LSD, Pacesetter Headers,
36# Injectors, HP Tuners
322 RWHP, 379 RWTQ
13.596 @ 102.56 w/100 shot

Let me clarify about the tranny cooler:
The failures seen on the heavy duty transmissions installed on the S/C W-Body platform is not caused by heat, it's due to breakage of the hard parts inside the transmission. Installing one on a car such as mine would do nothing to protect the transmission but introduce an element of possible failure. The page is intended for cars such as mine, and as such, you should know why the mods are bad (you should know the history of the rate/type of parts failure on the platform before you call B.S.)
Some of this info is very specialized and not intended for all cars. I don't work for ZZP nor have any stake in their business, but they are a reputable company that makes good parts. ;)Check out my stable of supercharged W-Bodies HERE
\'97 Pontiac GP GTP Coupe
\'98 Regal GS | L67 3800 Series II
