  • I learned my lesson....again

    Last Friday I got my car back after being at the body shop for 2 months from me losing it at a left turn and hitting the curb. I paid my $1,000 deductible to fix it. So anyways, the day I got it back, I let my friend drive it for about five minutes, and when he came back, I had a broken front rim, bent A-Arm and a bent Bilstein shock. The car was barely driveable. He took a wide turn and hit the curb.(Maybe he is used to driving his crappy mustang)The good thing is that my friend is going to pay for everything.

    Total cost:
    -Used Rim = $175
    -Used A-Arm = $40
    -Used z-28 shock = $40 (temp. until I get a pair of Bilstein's)
    -Swaybar link = $5
    -3 hours labor = $120(I know the guy so I saved about $180)
    Alignment = $35
    Total = $415

    -4 days of not driving my Camaro = Priceless :(

          I am scared of crashing it again, so I am careful around corners now. And no more letting anyone else drive my car.

          -3800 II....I was actually chasing a Camaro that was trying to show off. But it backfired on me.

          -chkptcharlie ...."Worthless", yea you're right.

            Ouch. I've never let anyone else drive my car. Never will. F-Bodies are so much different than every other car, that's why I have trouble adjusting to any other kind of car whenever I have to drive something else while my car's in the shop getting mods put on. The handling, accelerator, brakes, it's all different. Jesus could come up and ask for the keys, but even then I wouldn't be confident enough to let anyone else drive it. It's good you've learned your lesson though. Sorry it had to be the hard way. :(

                    I only let people try and drive my car in an empty parking lot with only open space, otherwise noone gets close to my drivers seat.
