HELP with stuffing engine in car, doesn't fit!

We tried to put in my 3800 last night and it just wouldn't clear between the k member and the cowl. We tried every angle and even tried to force and all we accomplished was bending and breaking the metal underside of the cowl and it still doesn't fit. Is the 3800 taller than the 3.4 or something?

are you using the 3.8 engine mounts and K member?

I am using the 3.8l mounts with the 3.4l k member. The motor mounts look like they will fit good but we couldn't get the motor in far enough to tell for sure.

i have no clue the diff. on 3.4 k members and the 3.8's maybe different

K memebers are prolly different..

and I had to remove the intake manifold on the 3.4 to fit it in, so might have to do the same on the 3.8, just for that extra clearance ;)

Wow, you're going from a 60 degree to a 90 degree block. I almost expected it to be wider and shorter. Yeah, pull the intake and get that sucker seated. If it gives you problems going back on, start cutting some steel. You can reinforce later.

As for the motor. I only need like no more than another inch of clearance. Do you guys suppose it would b possible to loosen the k member so it drops just a little bit so i can get it through?
