Well i finally found it. a ls1 motor with 10k on it out of a z06 corvette. It might come with the 6 speed but i have no idea. Im getting the motor with wiring harness and all accessories. I really want to do this myself and i need to know what extra parts i need. I will have the v6 firebird body with a z06 ls1 in it.. perfect sleeper. :D
That means i must buy a Y pipe, speedo (if i care about the tach workin) Motor mounts, K member, and... fuel pump? Anything else im missing?
Yeah, the money from when you sell some of your mods to me.
Different front suspsension stuff, but it looks like you've got most of that covered. You might try coilovers and adjustable shocks, unless you can guess what sort of spring and shock rate you need with the V8 ...
And, BTW, if it's a real ZO6 it has the LS6 engine, not the LS1, correct?

Umm, it sounds like you have a 3.4 from the looks of your sig. Sorry to burst your bubble but that engine won't fit in your car unless you buy a whole new front end. Thus being the reason why they changed the body styles for both Camaro and Firebird in 98.....to accomodate for the new LS1 engine. The LS6 is right at the same size as the LS1, so you need a new front end to fit it in your car. You should also get a new speedo, why have a 125mph speedo in a car that tops out around 200mph??? Also will need a new rearend, suspension, fuel system, etc etc etc.
I was told that I could swap an LS1 for my 3.4. Hopefully you can do it, keep us updated. How much did ya get the engine for by the way? Where di ya get it from?

94 Camaro AT 3.4L<br />Still working on something worth posting.
You can fit a LS1/LS6 into a 3.4L V6 body. The body shape is fine, only thing that needs to be modified is the mounts. The suspension needs to be upgraded to support the V8, the rearend is fine: their is no difference between the V8 and V6 rearends except that some came with drums other with disks. The fuel pump needs to be upgraded and the y pipe and k member and of course the dash/speedo. The trans needs to match the engine as well but if your getting it out of the same car or type of car then it should be fine. Good luck.

it is a FACT that you need the new front ends to swap in an LS1. it WILL NOT and i stress WILL NOT fit without it. It has to do with the radiator and the way the intake is and im sure a couple other things. Now swapping the front ends is not hard in fact SOMONE here has done it. I cant remember who but i know they did and thier car looks AWESOME. I think it costed quite a bit though to do it just for the parts. The swap can be done you just need quite a bit of additional parts. You really should have went with an LT1 because it makes the swap easier and it still has the same potential that the LS1 has. But i give you credit for doing the LS1. Its gonna be a long road but hey you CAN do it. GOOD LUCK!
Just how exactly is it a fact. Explain how it is possible to install a big block engine into a 93-97 camaro/firebird. An LT1 is able to fit easy enough and their isn't that much of a size difference between the two. Thats a load of crap that you have to change the front end in order to have an LS1/LS6, their is no need to change the front end unless you like the newer style. I've seen many big block engines in the 93-97 style car without any problems except for hood clearance which can easily be fixed by a cowl/big block hood.

I think all you need is a new hood for the LSX to fit in the engine bay (I mean besides motor mounts, etc...)
What kin dof transmission are you gettin with it? The Z06 has the MN12, but the thing is all Corvette transaxles are mounted in the back, so how would you rig that up? I guess the best thing would be to get either a 4L60E or a T-56 out of a V8 F-body. The LS6 should bolt up to that, if it uses the standard GM bolt pattern.

nah it will fit scott the nose dont matter.
the front nose on a 98 is actually shorter than that on a 97 i believe anyways.
www.hpsalvage.com has swapped ls1's into 97 and below body styles with out changing the nose or the hood.

ok i find it hard to beleive a F'n LS1 wont fit. seriously guys, the height of the engine cant be higher then a LT1. they are thesame damn cars, i think they changed the front ends to update and so people can tell its got a different motor. it shares the essentially the same dimensions as a standard small block! also the LS1 and LS6 in the vettes had a different throttle. i beleive it was electrically operated not cable operated. seriously though, im going LS1 soon and it pains me to hear the it wont fit BS. same damn car different hoods. hmm will a firebird LS1 fit my camaro?

Hey everyone! I've been trying to remove my transmission for two days now! I need to replace the clutch. Only thing I've got left holding the transmission...
Hello, so I changed the front bearings on the bird and the ABS inoperative light came on. I made a mistake of not removing negative battery cable. Now...
I usually have to double, triple my headlight switch for them to come up on my 97 Firebird. I cleaned all connections. Could it be the headlight switch...
