Hey, if all you 3.4 owners want more protection, install an AC Delco filter part number PF52 or something equivlent. Its the same as the regular filter, but about 3in longer. Make sure its an AC Delco or Pure-One or something along those lines, if its a cheap filter it will not have an anti drainback valve, and we all hate that cold start knock.

yup, i use the equivalent. this also works for the 3.8L's, BTW. my cold start knock went away when i started using Mobil 1. -
Do you know the dimensions of that bigger filter. I'm trying to see if K&N filets make one similar to it for their gold series oil filters. I have a 87 Buick GN and they also have their filter sideways, and its a massive sin if you use a cheap filter without an anti drainback valve. I was thinking, what makes the 3.4 different? Filter sits the same way..
