I was having problems with my stock windsheild wipers. I replaced the blade, still no help. So I went ahead and completely replaced the whole thing, the stock ones were 11 years old, couldn't hurt right? But the new ones I put on, are doing the exact same thing the stock ones were.. only worse.. Whats wrong?

*When you turn them on the skip to big spots, one on the drivers side and one in the middle. I have problems driving when it's raining hard like it was today, because enough water collects that the wiper doesnt get and I can't see. Anyone else I this problem?

our cars take a special wiper blade. it is taller than most due to the fact that the wiper arm goes through it rather than over it. if you dont get the special blades, you will have this problem. i found this out the hard way myself. i tried modifying the frame of the blade with a dremel but it still didnt stop the problem, only lessened the effects. the only way to make it perfect is to get the correct, taller blades. Autozone sells them (anco brand, yellow package) and id assume other places do as well. they'll run you like $10 a set. just ask at the counter for the correct blade and if they are competant, they'll hook you up... good luck

i had replaced mine as well, but when i did i forgot to pull up the little piece to lock it in. It was still loose (not visably though) and would miss spots. I went to were i got the blades and they spent 4 seconds pulling the piece and locking it in place, fixing the problem but also making me feel like a huge tool.

Oh well, it works perfect now.

Yep they are special blades not typical 24 inch blades.

Your problem is not your wiper blades. The real problem is the whole wiper arm assembly. Basically the spring that holds the wiper blade to the windshield is worn out. I have had to replace both arms on my 96 due to the exact problem you described. You can pick up new arms from any Chevy dealer, but they are a bit pricey. Or you can get replacements from AutoZone for slightly less. I didn't have any luck with the AutoZone units and ended up buying them from the dealer.
