I definitely wouldn't mind doing that... those things are a pain to freaking change out... I just figured 100,000 miles on the original coils was a little much... so I was gonna put something in there that's a little better... but if they'll last for a good while longer and they're the best for our cars (by what it seems is the majority's consensus) ... then I definitely don't mind leaving them in and saving the 120$

well you can get stock replacements as well though since you are up in miles. I have 104k on mine and stock coils, cat, 02 sensors and such, so just because you are at the big 1-0-0 doesn't mean it is all over

            Re: ACCEL coils

you know what i think might be the cause of all of our coils screwing up? especially those who have a misfire after it RAINS?

if you look where your hood meets the plastic piece that the wipers lay on, you will notice water could easily penetrate through that area, and right under it is where all of the coils are. I mean they are so close to it you have to push up on it to get a wrench back there to take the off. And nothing is covering the coils from little droplets of water falling right down on them. And it always seems to be the 2nd coild back or the middle coil that is right under where the hood meets the plastic. Could water be shorting out our coils?

And has anyone made something to cover that area like a battery box cover except for your coils?

Get Summit Racing Coils. They are basically the same thing as MSD coils but are $32.xx a piece, cheaper than stockers and they worked good for me

I had accel coils so I just put the stock coils back on. Ill probably swap them for something else in the future but as soon as I put the stock coils back on the problem my car was having went away.
