  • Removing 3.4 Fuel Rail

I need to remove this, and just want to knwo everything that has to be disconnected to get it out. Also,

    1. So far i have all fuel lines disconnected at the diconnects, but not where it connects to the fuel rail. Second, i have all the AF pressure Reg, screws out, and also the plase that holds the metal fuel lines in place.
    2. Do the injectors come out with the rail or what.

Can someone please just give a basic rundown of the process so that i don't mess anything up. thanks

you have to pull the upper manifold b/c the rail wont fit in between the manifold and the cowl. The injectors will come out with the rail.

Why do you want to take it out?
The rail will come out with injectors. If you want to take the injectors off they have locks and the injectors will not want to come out.

I believe I took the upper intake off with the fuel rail... The injectors come off with the rail.

I never disconnected the fuel lines though, I left them attached, just let the pressure out, and wrapped them in a bag, and rubber band and set them aside.

Course I was getting to the lower intake and valve covers.

i have all the bolts out of the upper intake manifold, so i can just remove the whole upper plentium with the injectors? If so thats a lot easier.

just to recap, so if all electrical sensores are removed form the fuel injectors, fuel pressure regulator is off, All upper intake plentium bolts are out and all star bolts are removed from the fuel rail, the whole intake should be free? Am i missing anything. just want to make sure before i do a little persuasion tomorrow. the front part of the plentium is free, it slides from side to side.
