Right now I'm using regular non-synthetic Valvoline motor oil. Would switching to something like Valvoline's Durablend (semi-synthetic) oil be good?

me personaly I don't like synthetic oil. Whats the first thing you think of when you hear to word synthetic. For me it means fake, if you wanna put fake oil in your car thats your choice. I personaly use penzoil 10w-30 on my car since I bought it. But it really doesn't matter just as long as you use a good name brand clean oil you will be fine. And since vavoline oil is pretty much the cleanest oil on the market it would probably be good.

I would use Mobil 1 synthetic 10W30 over any oil. Synthetic does not mean fake. It means that the compounds in the oil are stronger and don't break down as fast as regular oils do. However, if your car has over 75,000 miles you should be weary of changing to synthetic because that oil is much cleaner and could possible clean out the cracks and chips in the pistons and heads causing it to burn the oil.

I am a current user of Valvoline's DuraBlend motor oil, actually i have been using it in my Camaro since i bought it about 2 years ago when it only had 19K on the clock. I use Valvoline's complete line of DuraBlend products. I am happy with their products and i believe they are the next best thing to Mobil 1. Since i change my fluids often, i do not see the need for a full-synthetic, so i figure a synthetic blend is the way for me to go.2000 Monterey Maroon Chevrolet Camaro<br />3.8L V-6/4spd Auto

durablend is great. I actually run Maxlife in mine, it's more of a blend. Checkout the bobistheoilguy.com forums2002 5-spd NBM Camaro
