yeah, are you sure its your intake manifold gasket? you are saying that its leaking oil onto the pipes.. you sure its not just teh valve cover gasket? unless teh oil is running along the front of the block, i'm not quite sure how its going from teh valley of the engine past the heads and onto the pipes (unless its coming out the back)... am i just not thinking clearly bout this? i know my valve covers leak a bit, but not enough to cause smoke.. if its just valve covers, teh job is far less intensive..

I'm not gonna read this whole thread but...
You do not need to know anything other than "lefty loosey right tighty" and where a haynes manual is to do this.
Even being TOTALLY naive of the situation, it shouldn't set you back more than a couple hours.
Your dad would do it in a half hour I'm sure.
You should have him stand by while you do it yourself, and take every suggestion he throws at you.
By all means though, do not let him just do it for you.
