I have a 3.8 V6 98 Firebird and Trying to get rid of the AirBox that connects from the throttle body to the Ram air..Everyone keeps telling me to get rid of it and use just a straight connection from the Throttle bod to the Ram Air ..My friend used a piece of pipe on his camaro but his is straight across on the firebird the throttle body bends down so cant really just use pipe.. What can i use to make this work?

air ducting - What the hell is air ducting?!
Hey, check out my page (ghetto engine mod). I used drier ducting. It will work, BUT you have to make sure to buy the "heavy duty" kind. You'll see what I'm talking about then you're in Home Depot.
P.S. What is thisRam AirSinister Six
Cardomain
--This doesn\'t change the fact that I am ~The Guru~ who still kicks puppies...

Just get a Whisper lid. They make them for 98's. You'll get better airflow than the stock lid, and the neck of the lid goes all the way back to the TB.2000 3.8L Firebird, Silver Metallic

\"Yes, London. I used high temp racing ducting to connect my MTI lid to my TB. Works wonders. DO NOT use dryer ducting, it will start to fall apart because of the engine heat and get sucked into the engine.98 Bright Red Camaro
Too many mods to list....check my website

the part that your thinking of is the resonator for the intake. basically its there to reduce noise. no noticicable hp gain but there is engine noise that is noticed. i had taken mine off and gone to home depot or lowes and found a pvc pipe (3 inch i believe) with a slight angle to it that matched the angle that is needed to go from the airbox to the throttle body. you will need to trim the pvc pipe that you buy by a couple inches more than likely.
