camaro problem

my brother drove into a hole with water and scratched the bottom of the car. now the car losses power from 1,700rpm to 3,000 rpm and it's a lot slower, also it shakes. on hills it does the same. what could this be a sensor on the trans? it's a stick t-5 thank you
