I've noticed what looks like a possible rear main seal leak, a nice pretty coat of oil on the TC cover.....a f***ing '99, it's already leaking, and of course the warranty's gone. Chevy sure isn't trying very hard to make their customers happy. I wrote to them to complain about the problems with my car, and I didn't even get an autoresponder message. I guess they cut us off.

Edit- Oh yeah, my leak doesn't seem to be bad enough to make a noticeable difference at oil changes - yet (knocks on wood), but it's enough that I can smell hot oil when I turn the car off. I hope it's not getting worse (knock on wood again).

yeah i've got one too and its been about a year that I haven't fixed it. Its not that bad just a little drop every week or so, but when i drive the car hard sometiems i smell it burning or see a little bit of smoke. I just found out my tranny is leaking too, so I estimate this be around 200 or so to get it fixed, not in the dealership cause they will charge about 500 cause they love to rip people off. I guess that sux for all of us since we all get oil leaks fairly easy.

Only leak I have ever had was from the valve covers. Which I fixed with some new gaskets. Once I lost the seal on the oil drain plug. That was nasty, had to be replaced real quick, coated the underside of my car on the way to autozone to get a new washer.

Mine is a 94 and I have not driven it hard. I am losing a little oil from my rear seal as well as from my dif....but not too much. I switched to Maxlife oil for the engine and I actually saw the leak diminish....but that was also because I was using a synth blend...which is much thinner thatn regular oil and will leak much easier than regular oil.
