this post angers me, youre talking about going well in excess of 100 mph... on a highway I might be driving on, or a highway someone I know might be driving on. I wonder why under 25 year old males have higher insurance rates... its because insurance companies are stupid right? NO its because of people like you wanting to go so damned fast on the highway... This wouldnt make me angry if you were talking about going to the track and doing this, but no, youre talking about endangering myself, my family and friends. Its quite self centered to think you should be able to drive however you want on a public road. I really dont want to hear "oh I can control my car at those speeds, or I know what to do" because you dont, you may think you do, but wait until something happens for you to find out how wrong you were. I hope when you DO find out you were wrong you run into a tree and not my grandmother. Thats all I have to say about that. This was not a flame, just a reply to try to talk some sense into people going so DAMNED fast.

hey i not taking any personal shots at you 93v6firebird but i think you should email that speech to every car manufacturer that makes cars that exceed 100 mph and your problem might be solved.

I have no problem w/ cars that exceed that speed, in fact I love them... I HATE when people fly past me on the highway at speeds far to fast to be driving anywhere besides the track. Thats all Im saying...

actually they already covered that problem, its called a "speed limiter" :rolleyes:

performance upgrades are for acceleration and power, not trying to reach Mach 1

hey, 96 firebird. Dont get all bent out of shape here. Im sure the guy doesnt do it during rush hour traffic times. By the way,I think being a little crybaby is a lotmore dangerous behind the wheel.

First off i don't run at high speeds for an extended period of time .
It's usaly around 3 in the am. on a 10 mile strech of open 3 lain highway. if i even see another car on the road i shut it down.
unless its rice doin the same thing.
Not everyone can aford dyno time . And onely a moron would run during the day .
At nite you can see cars almost 2 miles up the road (interstate 295 RI.)
my point i guse is if your gona bild a sweet camaro it shuld be abel to run with best of them.
And the limiter kinda kills that idea .
Did you know with just a few mods our cars can toast a boxter from the line up to 120? But then they role rite by and make you look like an a55. [img]graemlins/omg.gif[/img]

yeah uhm think again, boxters are 250hp off a 3.2L engine and theyre like 600lbs less...

i completely agree with you. if you want to drive incredibly fast, then do it, but you know that there are more deaths in camaros/firebirds every year than any other vehicle among ages 18-25? and you know what the leading cause of their wrecks are? flipping. how in god's name do you you think you flip a car with an incredibly low center of gravity? you have to be going pretty freaking fast i'd assume; either that or you'd have to hit one of those huge ramps that you are always dodging on all public roads (joke).

the saying "bros before hoes" is kinda the same situation as this because it's just testosterone that makes you want to go faster--when you actually think about what you are doing and how many people you are endagering, you realize that lives are little more important than the thrill. if you don't think this way, you should probably get your licence revoked within the next month ;)
