On my 3.8, it's on the drivers side near the rear. It's secured by 2 10mm bolts. Pop off the cover, replace the T-stat, replace the cover, & top off coolant. If your car is anything like mine, the temp gauge won't even register a change!

http://www.cardomain.com/id/nitroxxx28

On the 3.4, the T-stat is located right under the throttle body, you'll see a hose running to it, it's not hard to find once u know where to look. Goodluck!

The temperature gauges in our cars are horribly inaccurate just like practically every other gauge. The car will run a lot cooler with a 160 tho. www.installuniversity.com gives a pretty good tutorial on how to do it for a newer f-body (its on an LS1 but works for a 3.8) don't know if it will help with a 3.4 tho.
