• Tuning Up. I need major help

Okay so I have set aside this Sunday to tune up my car. I am really looking to change my plugs and wires first and foremost. Is there anywhere I can get a step by step guide on how to do this? I checked the search and didn't find anything. I wanted to see if anyone knew of a book.....or site or something that said step by step what to do. It's really hard for me to dive right into something when I've never done it before. BUT, I'm determined to do this. It may take me 99999 hours...just like changing my fuel filter took like 4 hours......HAHAHHAAH (if anyone remembers that)

Also what tools do I need?

thanks in advance

you'll need a spark plug socket, socket wrench, like a 1 or 3" extension, and possibly a flexible joint attachment. umm, as far as tht goes, change them out, it's relatively straight forward, same with plugs as with wires, old ones out, new ones in. change your PCV valve out as well, ,that's very simple it's on the top of the intake manifold.
any step by step guide can be had from autozone, IE haynes. may as well change out/clean your air filter as well. run a can of injector or fuel system cleaner thru

A little advice that won't be in any books.

When replacing the spark plugs, do it from underneath the car. Its way easier.

Not only a spark plug socket, but get a 5/8" wrench too, maybe one of the stuby ones. Some places it is hard to get a socket on, but I was able to get them with a wrench.

Here's some very good advice.
Only do one plug and wire at a time.
That way you don't get them all mixed up.

I got it down to about a 3 hour job maybe even 2 hours after doing it 3 times. It just takes practice.

Good luck!
