• Well, the day has finally arrived!!

For me to start the Camaro again that is(getting my license plate and insurance back tomorrow). It has been sitting nearly 9 months in the garage, battery disconnected, tank full of gas, and a fresh oil change. Anything I should know or you guys would suggest before I start it up again? I made the mistake of leaving the battery in the engine bay disconnected... some acid discharge came out, now I have to take the battery out and wipe up the bay and battery terminals with a mix of baking soda and water before I start it up. I would figure I need to inflate the tires too after letting the battery recharge for a while. I was thinking about giving it another oil change soon, maybe add some fuel injector cleaner in case any carbon deposits built up, add some to the gas tank too. I dunno, anything else you guys can think of? Yes, a carwash is one of them(the top is so dusty)! I think I'm gonna put new wheels on it too.
Yes, I know \"Artic\" should be spelled \"Arctic\". Can any of the mods change this?

Oil change, Recharge Battery, Clean Terminals, and car wash all sound good! The only thing I would worry about is the gas that has been sitting in your tank all that time!

Now, I'm not a know-it-all about gasoline, but I strongly believe that the quality of that gas has BADLY DETEIORATED!

Or am I full of it...? Not sure

I agree! 9 months is a loooong time for gas to just sit around. It's been in your tank since August, and has gone through a wide range of temp changes as well, further breaking it down. I would drain your gas tank ASAP! I would change the oil after 100-200 miles as well. FYI--regular Coke works AWSOME for cleaning battery posts. Just pour it on, let it sit, wipe them off.

yeah, definitely drain the tank. i run premium gas in my motocross bike, and if that gas sits for more than a month or two, i have to drain the tank b/c #1 it doesnt run near as well, and #2 i foul spark plugs alot more often. but i have seen additive stuff for your gas that keeps it from getting "old".

And you'll have 4 nice big flat-spots on those tires if you didn't have her up on jackstands.

The gas won't be much of an issue as long as the tank was FULL. If the tank was under half, then you might be looking at some issues...

Cool! Thanks for the input. I would hope the gas is still somewhat good... I had a full tank, and thanks for the headsup on the oil and carbon deposit thing! As I was putting the battery back, I noticed some acid discharge from the battery... it fell a lil bit below and tore away at some paint and even made a small hole through the metal. I think it'll be okay. I would like to get it fixed though. Anyone know if this would be under warranty from GM? I want to see if I can sneak this one into a warranty("uh yeah... I was cleaning the engine bay and noticed a hole!!!") And to top it off... the battery is dead. I'll take it to autozone to see if it's still good and have them recharge it. Thanks guys!

Oh yeah, I probably will have four flat spots on the tires... however, the I have new rims and wheels awaiting the car... not that big of a deal.

Yes it should be under warranty. Buddy of mine did the same thing in his TA.
