  • My hatch wont open !!

    hey guys my hatch fer some reson is gettign stuck closed :mad: ... i dont knwo why.. my button doesnt work, when i put the key in it doesnt work... wtfs wrogn with it?? i knwo it worked ive used it before .. perhaps its frozen?? does anyone know why this is? .. or have the same problem...??

    This may seem dumb, but is your e-brake on? Because if it isn't then the button won't work. If that isn't the issue can you atleast hear the hatch trying to unlatch when you hit the button?

      my hatch buttons work fine without the ebrake on, infact i never use my ebrake and i open my hatch all the time.

      mines a 95 though, maybe its a feature that came in 97 with the new interior?

        Yeah, mine work without the e-brake on.

          Take a shot gun to the locking mechanism, i bet itll open then.

            mynes an auto so no the ebrake isnt on, it opened before when i first got it.. but yeah i dunno i tried earlyer n it wouldnt open... i know u got to slam it a few times to shut it .in myne anyways the spring is busted or some ****.. maybe its just stuck now? i dunno

              lol but i dont want a big hole there haha i dont hate the car, lol id love to take a shotgun to my other car though hahaha..

                It has to be something with the locking mechanism. You might have to crawl over the backseat and pull back the carpeting. See what you can do from there

                  When you do this take a can of spray lub, and a hand full of common tools with you, i dont think you want to be climbing in and out...lol
