  • Odd misfire problem... Need suggestions

    Ok heres the deal:

I got oil on the drivers side of the engine. So i went to the car wash to clean it off. On the way home (about 10 mins later) the car starts misfiring. Once i got home i plugged in and found out it was 1 and 4. This is what happened in order:

Changed the coil pack. (no change)
    changed the ignition mod.(no change)
Changed the plugs and wires. (no change)
changed the other 2 coil packs.(no change)
traded injectors 2 with 4 and 1 with 3. (no change)
reloaded the PCM tune. (no change)

    Any other thoughts?

that's why they say to never power wash the engine compartment...

did the car ever get a chance to dry out thoroughly? i would normally point to the ICM (which is what you call the ignition module i guess) or the connections to them in the back. any codes? did you check your fuses just to be doubly sure?

there are so many wires and **** in an engine compartment, there could be hundreds of wires your could have possibly damaged. thats why i dont think spraying water on an engine is good.

well turns out the MSD module for 1 and 4 was bad, Thanks for the help and the comments. MSD has been on the car for 3 weeks I never thought the module would have been bad.

BTW I used low pressure and did not spray above the headers.
