I was just wondering if anyone else had these kinda problems with thier 3.4L. First of all it has an ungodly amount of miles on it, So that might be my problem in ther first place. But it idles Semi-Rough, I'm running EXTREMELY Rich and I got HORRIBLE gas mileage. I've fixed/replaced alotta things. A few for example are, I have an Open Element K&N replacing the stock intake, I put on a high flow cat cause the stock one was plugged, New O2 sensors, Wires, Plugs, B-12 Chemtooled the hell out of it, New EGR Valve. Also I have the wierd problem of when I am on the highway when I decelerate from over 60 miles in hour it throws an engine code at me. It's a 93 3.4L V6 and Since it won't flash codes for me I can't tell what code it is, and I don't have a scan tool. Please tell me someone has similar symptoms??

take it to autozone and find out what the codes are. i heard it is a problem with the egr. i have a 93 3.4 and it does the same thing evertime i decelerate from 45mph+ and the egr was replaced. do a search and u will find other topics about the egr problem. alot of people have this problem. my gas mileage is fine. i drive hard and get about 16mpg 28mpg on the highway93 3.4 w/K&N FIPK installed 1/13/04

Does it idle rough? Is it fouling plugs? Is it just one or two plugs or all? Have you tried cleaning the TB and intake?1994 Firebird 3.4<br />15.65 @ 86.8<br /><a href=\"http://www.funkz.net/firebird.htm\" target=\"_blank\">funkz.net/firebird</a><br /><a href=\"http://mywebpages.comcast.net/funkz/timeslips.htm\" target=\"_blank\">Timeslips</a>

the deceleration problem sounds very much like the EGR... but you replaced it
As for the rest, not sure, you seemed to go through every step I woudl have. Only other suggestion I have is get a chilton's manual I believe it explains how to check all the sensors with a multimeter to see if they were good.
As for the scanning codes thing I hated that on my old car, no scanners worked on it

Is that code flash thing a recurring problem with the '93 3.4? I thought it was just me.
I think you should try to find a tech1 and get you codes scanned. Also, make sure all of your connections are tight. It might be shorting or something when you decelerate.UAH FSAE<br />Chief Engineer<br /> <a href=\"http://chargermotorsports.com\" target=\"_blank\">http://chargermotorsports.com</a> <br /> <a href=\"http://members.cardomain.com/camaronat\" target=\"_blank\">http://members.cardomain.com/camaronat</a>

I know this sounds kind of stupid but I read in your first post you basicly a tune up. Plugs, wires, and o2 sensors but did you replace the coil packs. My 94 3.4 was running kind of rough I did a tune up on it and it has been running perfactly since then. Plugs and wires were all fine on mine the only thing that was wrong was my coil packs they built up too much resistance inside them but I figured if I'm gonna give my car a tune up I'm not gonna half *** it so I replaced everything.

Thats one thing I diden't try, I guess I'll bust out with the Multimeter and check the resistance. My dad got ahold of a Scan Tool from one of his friends and ran it for me while I was out with some friends. It gave me some BS about Injector Misfire on Cylinder 4, Figured it was just a carbon filled injector, There are still some other sensors I diden't test, Main ones being CPS and MAP. I diden't know if it was ALL 93 3.4s but it makes it hard as hell to check codes when they don't flash, Wonder why its just ours?

Go ahead and replace you PCV valve, it is like a buck or two part. I know if that is bad it can make the car idle rough. Not sure about, the rough running or anything. Is anything wrong with the car that we should know of. Like does your speedo work? I know, if your speedo isnt working it will throw a code, when you are decelerating. Because your TPS is at 0, your mph is at idle, and you are for some reason still at like 2000 rpm, so it freaks out yur computer. That is the blessing of speed density. :DJordan<br />15.09@90.7<br /><a href=\"http://www.fullthrottlev6.com/forums/vbgarage.php?do=view&id=21\" target=\"_blank\"><b>1995 Camaro 3.4 M5</b></a>

First off i thought DescendingAngelz was talking about my car in that first post. i got a 93 3.4 and it does all that same stuff, but when i check the codes it says something about egr. I have never had a problem scanning my computer, but then again most of my friends are mechanics and they have the proper computer equipemnt for me to use. i would take your injectors out and clean them all. the best way to do this is to get a lawn sprayer(the pump up kind) and fill it with seafoam, injector cleaner or whatever you want to use. then take the hose that has the wand on the end and remove it from the main bottle. then get a little piece of hose that will fit on the injector. then pump it up. ten get a 9 voly battery and hook it up to your injector andlet it spray. I did this on one of my firneds porsches that had a bad idle problem and it runs great now.1987 Buick Grand National drivetrain in my 1993 Pontiac Firebird.
