My understanding, and since I have a 3.4, with it's own challenges, I can only answer from reading other posts; you need to come from below on the last 2 cyls.

maybe try some vice grips? I here alot of peopel have the same problem as you, and I figure, a socket extender just the socket with a pari fo vice grips might take care of it.

But then again I haven't done plugs on a 3.8L

Relax, there's a somewhat simple solution here.
Does your spark plug socket have a hex end on it? If it does, then install the socket on the spark plug, and use a wrench on the end of it. When I was doing my plugs, my socket and ratchet wouldn't fit together into the tight a$$ space GM gave us. The wrench-n-socket worked wonders!!

If you don't have a hex end on your socket, buy one. It will remove the plugs alot more easily for you. ;)

change the plugs from under the car. They are easier to get to. Hope it helps.

So do Ford and Chrysler, etc. Changing the serpentine belt on my Contour was next to impossible especially with the car hot. I still have scars from burns that I've gotten while trying to change it with the car hot. Even using the special serpentine belt tool there was barely enough space between the fender well and the tensioner to work it inside the 3/8 square hole. Every car has its prized quirk when it comes to maintenance. I think the Camaro's has to be the spark plugs.
