Well, the car has 140K on it now and given I'm the car's 5th or 6th owner... I seriously doubt if this job has ever been done since last I checked it's still running on GM Stock plugs, Wires, Fuel Filter, ect... (I just changed the Fuel Filter, Air Filter, and PCV Valve... doing the plugs and wires today when I get home...)

Given the fact it's a messy job and I need a replacement gasket and a tourque wrench maybe... I'll just have a shop do it... Probably castrol since most of my lubrication products are from them anyway...
You might want to change the Tranny fluid also. </font>[/QUOTE]Tranny Fluid's been changed, how I know? P1870 Code!! Thats how!... $1,200 rebiuld less than 8k ago... But thanks for the suggestion...

Hey will bad rear end fluid make your car seem somewhat sluggish even after it's been tuned up? No misfires or studdering it just seems I could get more accelleration for the pedal I'm giving it... I have tools... where's the filler hole? I'll get under her tomorrow to see what this job will require and I'll consider doing it myself... can someone just run by me everything I'm going to need one more time?

Edit: ALSO!!! Is it safe for me to switch to synthetic gear lube at 140K without leaks? Is GM LSD Fluid nessicary? I believe I saw Castrol selling LSD... OR Lucas, one or the other...

what happens if the fluid in the rear end starts to run low? will it lock up/slow down? maybe i could be mistaking this for a misfire, if the rear is locking up it would make the engine lurch, correct?

Yes, that and will it make the car seem sluggish? Like it should be going faster for the amount of gas you're giving it? Also my car usually won't downshift unless I give it a chunk of gas...
