  • I need a FRAM oil filter part number for a 3.4L...

Alright, don't worry I know frams are kinda crappy. BUt still.

I have an old Fram oil filter that was supposed to be for my girlfirend's car a 2.2L ohv Cavalier(was gonna do an oil change at night, and Walmart only sells FRAM).

I am pretty sure that the part numbers were the same, they usually were with Purolators. If I can save $3 its worth it to me.

    Part I have is PH3387A

Maybe it's the lack of sleep, but I'm confused as to what you're asking. I assume that you needed an oil filter part number, but then it sounds like you have an oil filter number for both the Purolator and the Fram, or maybe you want the Purolator number, or perhaps you just want to know if both engines use the same filter.

Anyways, here is what I can provide for you disregarding my confusion. Hopefully something in this will help. I know for a fact that the 2000 Cavalier 2.2 (shouldn't vary for model years close to 2000- it seemed like a good round number so I just assumed it since you didn't post what year) and the 3.4 in the Camaro both utilize the same size filter. The part #PH3387A is applicable for both cars. However, I don't recommend skimping on the filter and go for quality.

yeah I figured it out, I had an extra filter for the cavalier(since the box is in fornt of me) laying around, wasn't 100% sure on the part number for the camaro, didn't want to throw a filter off the cavlier onto the camaro if it wasn't the same size.

I looked it up on www.FRAM.com and they are the same part.

As for skimping, this car has been treateed pretty weel as for oil and filters, just skimping cuz its laying around, they may not be ideal but it will get the job done, and hopefull, I get rid of this car by next oil change.
