once again my car is pissing me off. I turned it on this morning and went to school and on the way there it started like hesistating, felt like the plug wires were getting screwed up again. I checked it this afternoon and they are all in perfect condition, the spark plugs are new, I have just had an oil change, my tranny fluid is fine, and i just added some fuel injector cleaner like two weeks ago.
when I press the gas its fine, but when I give it more it kinda hesitates and only revs up to 4K rpm.
My question is this, will the fuel filter cause hesitation like this?? do I need to get my whole system cleaned? anyone had this happen to them?

If its not the plugs or wires then you may need to have the fuel system cleaned. It could also be and EGR problem.

whats EGR? sorry for my ignorance. I think I might take it to merchants to get fuel system clean and see if they can chagne the filter. Since the car is not running SES light anymore, its not the plugs, the light was on in the morning but once I parked and revved it up it turned off, so its something else not plugs.

EGR= Exhaust Gas Recirculation. I takes the some of the gas and runs it back through the intake to help with emissions and to improve gas milage.

Changing your fuel filter is easy, it should only take about 30 minutes tops to do. It's under the car on the rear drivers side. I just changed mine a few months ago, and it took me about 30 minutes and I had never done it before.

I doubt its the filter. It will take an extremely clogged filter to make your car hesitate that bad. Believe me, when I changed the filter in my Malibu, that thing was black! It was seriously dirty. The car performed fine with it in.

nope the pump does not make noise
, The SES light came back on today on the way to work and the car is still the same. I think I am just goign to go change the wires even though they are only 8 months old becuase they might be burnt in some hidden part, I could have sworn I felt a little bit of a misfire when I was stopped.
Since you said its not the filter then I am not going to waste my time changing it. Any other comments are welcome, thank you.

I just got my car back from the shop a few days ago. I was having the same problem for the 3rd time in less than a year. 1st, they said it was the plugs so I had them replaced. 2nd, I was getting a "random misfire", so they ended up replacing a couple of the plug wires and an ignition coil. 3rd time, the mechanic at the Chevy dealer I bought it at said the other two coils went bad so I had them replace all plug wires and the remaining two coils. Car runs like a champ now and it was all covered under the extended warranty.

****ing american cars, they piss me off so bad. I got every little problem alreayd fixed and now thi ****. I just finished checking my wires. I checked them inch by inch outside in the ****ing rain and they are not burnt. I just tightened them good and took the car for a drive. There is no misfire, the car is great at idle and at slow acceleration but when I press the gas more it starts to hesitate and then goes back to normal, it feels like the damn injectors are clogged or the intake, i dunno. The SES light is still on, I might just have to get it scanned so they can tell me what the problem, but the nearest Auto Zone is in Manassas, 25 miles away and I barely have time to work and go to school.
